Population:  With more than 1,200,000,000 inhabitants, India has the world’s second-largest population.

System of government: India is the largest democracy in the world; it is a federal republic operating under a parliamentary system.

Capital: New Delhi, with a population of 321,883, is the capital of India

Religion: Hinduism, followed by Islam, Christianity and others.

Official Language: India officially recognises 22 languages. Hindi is the national language, while English is the ‘subsidiary official language’.

Climate: India experiences a tropical climate in the south and a temperate one in the north.

India is a major exporter of textiles, jewellery and software, while its major imports consist of crude oil, machineries, fertilizers and chemicals.
The daily average budget for a tourist in India approximately ranges between 1000 Rs to 5000 Rs, depending on the cost of accommodation.
